This season hasn't been kind to the Cumberland Christian Crusaders, who are still winless after their sixth game. They were beaten by Atlantic Christian 79-12 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Cumberland Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while Atlantic Christian is ranked 111th).
Atlantic Christian was led to victory by Charlie Costello and Noah Stokes. Costello scored 14 points along with three steals, while Stokes scored 15 points along with six assists. Noah Gibbs was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Cumberland Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Atlantic Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cumberland Christian will take on Calvary Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Calvary Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Atlantic Christian, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on January 16th.
