Last week was moving week for the Notre Dame de Sion girls basketball team.
With the help of guard Alexandra Keane, who scored 48 points collectively in wins over O’Hara (63-46), St. Joseph’s Academy (43-38) and Incarnate Word (59-58) in overtime, the Storm climbed three spots to No. 3 in the latest Class 4 Missouri girls basketball rankings.
Keane, a 5-foot-7 sophomore, tallied 20 points against O’Hara (17-4), and then added 12 and 16 points against Class 5 No. 7 St. Joseph’s Academy and Class 5 top-ranked Incarnate Word respectively.
Junior guard Teresa Turner and senior forward Erin Murphy contributed 37 and 27 points respectively for the Crusaders in the three game series.
Instead of punishing the Angels and the Red Knights, Notre Dame de Sion gets the promotion here. The Crusaders are in the midst of a 13-game winning streak, and haven’t lost since a 67-40 loss to Jefferson City Helias on Jan. 10.
Incarnate Word made a strong argument for remaining atop Missouri’s large class rankings after traveling to Kansas Class 5A power St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday and leaving with a 54-48 triumph.
While the girls Class 5 rankings remained intact from a week ago, there was a shakeup in the Class 4 girls ranks. The upward climb by the Crusaders dropped St. James (21-1) and Platte County (20-2) one spot each.
Webb City dropped a couple of spots following a 61-53 loss to Class 5 No. 5 Nixa. Sullivan rises one rung to sixth, while Farmington and St. Joseph-Benton remain at No. 8 and No. 9 respectively.
Fulton (20-2) moves in to the rankings at No. 10 to replace West Plains.
Below is a look at the latest Missouri boys and girls basketball rankings.
