The Silsbee Tigers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They took down Hamshire-Fannett 39-21. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Silsbee also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Silsbee got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Moshier out in front who threw for 336 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt. Trei Kibbles was another key contributor, rushing for 168 yards and a touchdown.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Hamshire-Fannett to a paltry 217 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Silsbee's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Garry White and his two sacks.
Although Hamshire-Fannett took the loss, they still got scores from Chris Augustine and D'onte Zeno.
Silsbee's win was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 39 points. As for Hamshire-Fannett, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-1.
Silsbee will head out on the road to face off against Bridge City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The pair might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games. As for Hamshire-Fannett, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Liberty will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 793rd, while Hamshire-Fannett is ranked 117th).
