Leading Marlin to victory were Jacorian Johnson and Aarik Smith-shelley. Johnson scored 15 points along with eight assists and five steals, while Smith-shelley scored 22 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith-shelley has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mario Hopwood, who scored eight points along with seven steals.
Marlin pushed their record up to 12-4 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.1 points per game. As for Wortham, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Marlin will head out on the road to square off against Bremond at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wortham, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hubbard at 7:30 p.m.
