LEWISVILLE, Texas -
Hebron (Carrollton, Texas) captured the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for a 25-12 victory over
Lewisville (Texas) on Saturday. The Hawks captured the lead for good when
Vandy Parkes ran for a touchdown.
After trailing 3-2 at the half, the Farmers went ahead on a field goal by
Tluang Hmung with 7:00 left in the third. Hebron finally took the lead for good as Parkes ran for a touchdown with 7:00 remaining in the fourth quarter.
By the end of the third, HHS found itself trailing by 2 points as Lewisville captured the lead thanks to two scores in the quarter. LHS scored on a field goal by Hmung and a
Ahkeel Guy touchdown run in the quarter.
Guy played well for the Farmers. He ran for one touchdown.
The Carrollton school's standout player in the win was
Jamal Adams. The junior wide receiver ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
Lewisville's lone touchdown came on a 43-yard run by Guy in the third quarter.
Coming into the game the Hawks had allowed 20.0 points per game this year.
A 36-0 Hebron victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
With the win HHS extended its winning streak to three games.
Lewisville (1-8) will play a 5A Region I District 5 game against Coppell next week, while Hebron (6-3) will take on Marcus also in a 5A Region I District 5 game.
