The Brandon Bulldogs came tearing into Thursday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 27-10 win over Northwest Rankin. That's another feather in the cap for Brandon, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Brandon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nate Blount iv, who rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown. Jay Mcqueen did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 120 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Brandon's win was their fourth straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 8-2. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 8-1 Oak Grove and 8-2 Warren Central (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 72.2% over those games). As for Northwest Rankin, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
Brandon will be playing in front of their home fans against Harrison Central at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Harrison Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Brandon is ranked third). Northwest Rankin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
