Even though the Liberty Lions have not done well against the Boulder Creek Jaguars recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Liberty took down the Jaguars 59-41. Liberty didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.
Liberty was led to victory by Lilliana Welstad and Emma Koker. Welstad scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Koker dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Koker has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Angelina Marsh, who scored four points along with seven assists and three steals.
Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Boulder Creek, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Sunnyslope the next time they take the court. Liberty will host the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Jaguars will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
