Softball Recap: Beaver Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Beaver made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Grand County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Beaver was the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over Grand County on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Beavers, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Brindee Carter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lily Wright, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-3. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. Danzee Bradshaw was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Beaver has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. Grand County is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beaver will square off against Parowan at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Parowan has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.8 runs per game on average), something Beaver will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Grand County, they will host North Sevier at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
