After a string of four wins dating back to last season, the Jesuit Crusaders's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 43-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Linn. Jesuit was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as West Linn apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.
When it comes to explaining why Jesuit lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kendra Hicks. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Jesuit's loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-1. As for West Linn, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jesuit will be home for the holidays to greet Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Jesuit is ranked 35th). West Linn will be home for the holidays to greet Grants Pass at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
