Lincoln Charter has gone a perfect 7-0 against Langtree Charter Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Lincoln Charter will venture away from home to challenge Langtree Charter Academy at 6:30 p.m. Lincoln Charter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.8 runs per game this season.
Lincoln Charter gave up the first runs last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Pine Lake Prep 17-5. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Pride: they've now won nine in a row.
Danny Okoniewski was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Horne, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Lincoln Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine Lake Prep only posted an OBP of .360.
Meanwhile, Langtree Charter Academy has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.64 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They lost 10-4 to Mountain Island Charter.
Easton Roschke was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Roschke was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Roschke wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Lewis, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Langtree Charter Academy dropped their record down to 10-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Lincoln Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lincoln Charter has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Langtree Charter Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Lincoln Charter beat Langtree Charter Academy 3-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lincoln Charter since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
