The Bradford Tornadoes will face off against the Tocoi Creek Toros at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bradford took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past North Marion 13-1.
Kolee Lemire and Kingslee Phillips did most of the damage at the plate: Lemire scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Phillips scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Summer Sutton, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
They weren't the only one making solid contact: Bradford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Tocoi Creek got the win against Beachside on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-1.
Kaycee Huff was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Natalia Santana, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Tocoi Creek pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bradford, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Both Bradford and Tocoi Creek just can't seem to miss. The Tornadoes have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Tocoi Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bradford suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to Tocoi Creek in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Tornadoes have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
