Nativity BVM hasn't had much luck against Williams Valley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Green Wave will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. Nativity BVM has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Nativity BVM came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 17-6 to Mahanoy Area. While the Green Wave didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Golden Bears 5-1 in the first period.
Lauren Clark was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Williams Valley waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Trojans a 13-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Olivia Hand was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Mallory Mace was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Kamri Koppenhaver was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Williams Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Nativity BVM, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
Nativity BVM might still be hurting after the 22-0 defeat they got from Williams Valley in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Green Wave avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
