The Taylor Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Tavares Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Taylor is ranked 751st, while Tavares is ranked 733rd).
Last Thursday, Taylor came up short against Trinity Christian Academy and fell 63-54.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Zachery McKinnon, who scored nine points. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew North, who scored six points along with two steals.
Tavares suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Pine Ridge on the road and fell 62-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tavares has scored all season.
Taylor's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-10. As for Tavares, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Taylor suffered a grim 58-33 defeat to Tavares when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Taylor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
