The Eastern Hancock Royals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past Union County with points to spare, taking the game 75-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Kayden Ruble continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with nine rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Luke Morris, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Union County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nick Watterson, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Watterson scored 15 or more points. Gavin Davis was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists and two steals.
The victory got Eastern Hancock back to even at 5-5. As for Union County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Eastern Hancock won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Greenfield-Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Greenfield-Central is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Union County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Tri focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Saturday.
