The third road game was the charm for Port Neches-Groves, as they earned their first road win of the season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Nederland 54-23 on the road.
Meanwhile, Crosby scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 69-26 win over Sterling at home. That looming 69-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Crosby yet this season.
Crosby can attribute much of their success to Emori Lasalle, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, and Lamaya Clark, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The contest was Lasalle's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jasmine Zapata was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
Port Neches-Groves' win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Crosby, they pushed their record up to 11-10 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Port Neches-Groves was dealt a bruising 77-47 loss at the hands of Crosby when the teams last played back in January. Can Port Neches-Groves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
