The North White Vikings will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Boone Grove Wolves at 12:00 p.m. on December 30th. Hopefully North White focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 two weeks ago.
North White struggled with assists two weeks ago (Twin Lakes had 13 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. North White had to suffer through a rough 79-40 loss at the hands of Twin Lakes. While losing is never fun, North White can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 424th, while Twin Lakes is ranked 188th).
North White's defeat came about despite a quality game from Dane Hood, who scored 17 points along with five steals. The matchup was Hood's third in a row with at least ten points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Boone Grove beat New Prairie 41-35 on Friday. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Boone Grove has scored all year.
Boone Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kam Dixon, who scored six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Batesole, who scored nine points along with five assists.
North White has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Boone Grove, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.
Saturday's matchup is shaping up to be a scrappy game: North White have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 19.4 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Boone Grove, though, as they've been averaging only 25.4 rebounds per game. Given North White's sizeable advantage in that area, Boone Grove will need to find a way to close that gap.
