They had to suffer through a rough 72-19 loss at the hands of Mount Olive. Mississippi School for the Deaf has not had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Mississippi School for the Deaf saw an underclassman step up: Tyler Brown scored seven points.
Mississippi School for the Deaf dropped their record down to 3-19 with that loss, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.1 points per game. As for Mount Olive, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
Mississippi School for the Deaf and the Pirates will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Mount Olive, they will head out on the road to take on the Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Mississippi School for the Deaf comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
