Baseball Recap: Altamont's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Altamont didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They never let the Locust Fork Hornets get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Friday. Considering the Knights have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Altamont's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.2 runs. As for Locust Fork, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Altamont didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 1-0 loss against Westminster School at Oak Mountain on the 8th. As for Locust Fork, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Hanceville at 4:30 p.m. Locust Fork has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
