Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Olivia Hawks and Katie Reimink Lead Lakeland Christian Academy to Victory

Lakeland Christian Academy waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 49-34 win over the Granger Christian Knights. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Leading Lakeland Christian Academy to victory were Katie Reimink and Olivia Hawks. Reimink posted 14 points along with five boards and four steals, while Hawks almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Hawks has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last eight times she's played. Dayton Sibert was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Lakeland Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Lakeland Christian Academy pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Granger Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Lakeland Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 28-25 win against Bethany Christian on the 21st. As for Granger Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-21 loss against DeMotte Christian on the 27th.
