Appalachian waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Jefferson Christian Academy a 17-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Appalachian, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Appalachian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-8-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Jefferson Christian Academy, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
