The De Anza Dons will head out to face off against the Miramonte Matadors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mya Arroyo and Ma'Yhana Moore made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Arroyo tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. At bat, Arroyo scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Moore scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Riana Everetts was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Meanwhile, Miramonte beat Head-Royce 5-1 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Matadors.
Abby Warren spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 18 Ks. Those 18 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Miramonte's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lucy Daoust, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Julia Quinn-Ferguson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
The win got De Anza back to even at 1-1. As for Miramonte, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
De Anza came up short against Miramonte when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 8-5. Can De Anza avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
