The South Laurel Cardinals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 75-60 win over Harlan. The victory was nothing new for South Laurel as they're now sitting on seven straight.
South Laurel's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Mabe, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. The contest was Mabe's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Steele, who scored 14 points along with seven assists.
South Laurel pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Harlan, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Laurel's road trip will continue as they head out to face Boyle County at 7:30 p.m. on January 6th. As for Harlan, they will face off against Red Bird at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
