Nolan Guedel caught three as
New Palestine (Ind.) bested Mt. Vernon (Fortville, Ind.) 33-0 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a Luker touchdown pass to Guedel in the first quarter, the Dragons led 19-0 at the half.
New Palestine expanded its lead to 33 points entering the fourth quarter. NP scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
James Young.
The Dragons scored 19 points in the first quarter on the way to a win. New Palestine scored on a Luker touchdown pass to Guedel, a touchdown pass by Luker to Guedel and a Young touchdown run in the quarter.
NP had given up an average of 9.3 points prior to the contest. The Marauders came in allowing just 17.1 points per game this season. Mt. Vernon had a hard time against New Palestine's offense, who entered the game scoring 45.2 points per game.
The loss comes after Mt. Vernon defeated Greenfield-Central 16-13 last week. The loss ended Mt. Vernon's two-game winning streak.
