Wesson got themselves on the board against Jefferson County on Tuesday, but Jefferson County never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Jefferson County Tigers with a sharp 18-0 victory. Wesson got a big performance out of Baylor Smith, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. That's the most runs Smith has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jack Wilson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Wesson's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Jefferson County, they, and Natchez. As for Jefferson County, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wesson will head out to face off against Natchez at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Natchez has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.41 runs per game on average), something Wesson will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Jefferson County, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Franklin County at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th.
