The Central Raiders suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Oxford by a score of 65-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Oxford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kellen Green, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Carpenter, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2-1. As for Oxford, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
After both having extra time off, Central and Caldwell will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Caldwell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 back in December of 2023. Oxford will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Haven at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
