The Summit Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Middle Park Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Summit is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
Saturday just wasn't the day for Summit's offense. They lost 6-0 to Eagle Valley on Saturday.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Middle Park). They blew past Jefferson 15-2 on Saturday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 11, 2024, but that streak is no more.
Diogui Laynes was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.
In other batting news, Noah Hunter was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Everett Deramo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Middle Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Summit's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Middle Park, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-12.
Everything went Summit's way against Middle Park in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Summit made off with a 14-1 win. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
