Fort Stockton is 2-7 against Monahans since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. One of the most notable came from Marco Garcia, who threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes, and also rushed for 101 yards on only seven carries. Another player making a difference was Corbin Luna, who rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Meanwhile, Monahans humbled Pecos with a 49-13 victory. With Monahans ahead 42-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Fort Stockton's win was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 6-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.6 points per game.
