Xavier Roberts ran for two touchdowns and
Carnez Gant added three as well as
Kennedy (Mound Bayou, Miss.) defeated Brooks (Benoit, Miss.) 34-0 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Gant in the first quarter, the Hornets led 20-0 at the half.
Kennedy grew its lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. KHS scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Gant.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Mound Bayou school, which was coming off a 26-16 defeat at the hands of Leland in its previous game.
Kennedy (2-2) goes up against Shaw in a 1A Region 2 game matchup next week, while Brooks (0-5) locks horns with Shaw also in a 1A Region 2 game.
