Vero Beach is a perfect 10-0 against Treasure Coast since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. Vero Beach is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
On Friday, Vero Beach was able to grind out a solid victory over Dwyer, taking the game 9-4.
Sebastian Dimitroff looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jace Romans, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Caleb Wood was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
Vero Beach was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dwyer only posted a batting average of .214.
Meanwhile, Treasure Coast came up short against Jensen Beach on Thursday, falling 7-1. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Treasure Coast also got a good showing from Jacob Contreras, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, Treasure Coast saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charles Permann, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Vero Beach pushed their record up to 22-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Treasure Coast, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Vero Beach has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Treasure Coast struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Vero Beach beat Treasure Coast 8-3 when the teams last played back in March. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
