The Broken Arrow Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 24 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Stillwater 72-40 at home. Given Broken Arrow's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Stillwater is ranked 324th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Broken Arrow was led to victory by McKenzie Mathurin and Macy Marraccini. Mathurin scored 26 points, while Marraccini scored 17 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Mathurin has scored at least 25% of Broken Arrow's points. Taryn Jacobs was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Broken Arrow now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Stillwater, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5.
Broken Arrow and Seiling will round out the year against one another at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th at. Seiling has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 427 points over their last six matches. Stillwater will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bixby at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
