The Stevenson Patriots will take on the Lake Park Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Stevenson will head out to face Lake Park after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. The Patriots took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glenbard West.
While Stevenson was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23.
Stevenson's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lexi Randle El, who had 11 digs and two aces, and Jane Tan, who had seven assists and four digs.
Meanwhile, Lake Park didn't have quite enough to beat Glenbard South on Wednesday and fell 2-1. While the Lancers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Raiders 25-20 in the first set.
Lake Park started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-15, 25-21.
Stevenson will have to keep a close watch on Addison Norberg and Deven Townsend, a pair of players who had a big impact on Lake Park's prior game. Norberg had 13 assists and seven digs, while Townsend had nine digs and three assists.
Stevenson suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 22-12. As for Lake Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-24.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Stevenson has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Lake Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
