With a playoff game on the line, the Sylmar Spartans rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Knights by a score of 63-56. The victory was familiar territory for Sylmar who now have three in a row.
Leading Sylmar to victory were Joseph Dickson, Jr and Nathan Lee. Dickson, Jr scored 21 points along with three steals, while Lee scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Dickson, Jr is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Sidon, who scored 11 points.
Sylmar pushed their record up to 15-14 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.1 points per game. As for Bravo, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-12.
Sylmar will square off against Garfield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sylmar knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Garfield likes a good challenge. Bravo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
