The Carolina Forest Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the North Myrtle Beach Chiefs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carolina Forest, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized North Myrtle Beach's (thus far) undefeated season.
Carolina Forest pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to Mullins. While losing is never fun, Carolina Forest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Mullins is ranked 94th).
The losing side was boosted by Nick Zincone, who scored 24 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Zech Gardner, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, North Myrtle Beach beat Loris 67-54 on Friday.
The losses dropped Carolina Forest to 0-5 and Mullins to 6-2.
Carolina Forest might still be hurting after the 67-46 defeat they got from North Myrtle Beach when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can Carolina Forest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
