The Rutherford Rams had already won 16 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.1 points), and they went ahead and made it 17 on Tuesday. They blew past Arnold 62-4 at home. Rutherford has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Rutherford got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ayonnie Houston out in front who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Butler, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Rutherford pushed their record up to 19-1 with that victory, which was their 19th straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.89 points. As for Arnold, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-13.
Rutherford won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bay at 1:30 p.m. on January 24th. Bay will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 480th, while Rutherford is ranked 18th). Arnold on the road again on Friday and play against Bozeman at 4:00 p.m. on January 26th.
