After each having a week off, the Donelson Christian Academy Wildcats and the Trinity Christian Academy Lions will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Donelson Christian Academy will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up seven points on October 3rd, then bounced right back against Clarksville Academy last Friday. The Wildcats really took it to the Cougars for the full four quarters, racking up a 40-0 victory. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Wildcats had established a 26-point advantage.

King Gardner had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 154 yards and two TDs while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 70 receiving yards. He has become a key player for Donelson Christian Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Donelson Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 263 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Donelson Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Tristan Smith, Noah Savley, Gardner, and Wyatt Gray picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian Academy waltzed into their matchup last Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Vikings, posting a 49-14 win. The Lions' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Donelson Christian Academy better keep an eye on Owen Atwood. He was instrumental in Trinity Christian Academy's win, rushing for 81 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 133 yards and one touchdown while completing 83.3% of his passes. Atwood was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. Gabe Lee was another key player, picking up 115 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Trinity Christian Academy, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Lee, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Donelson Christian Academy's record now sits at 5-3. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their record is now 6-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Donelson Christian Academy has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Trinity Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 177.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Donelson Christian Academy against Trinity Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2020, as the team secured a 48-7 victory. In that matchup, the Wildcats amassed a halftime lead of 34-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
