North Judson-San Pierre came out on top against Pioneer on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Bluejays were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Bluejays have won six matches by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Trey McGowen, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. North Judson-San Pierre is 5-1 when McGowen posts two or more runs, but 4-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brock Benson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

North Judson-San Pierre was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pioneer only posted a batting average of .176.

The victory got North Judson-San Pierre back to even at 9-9. As for Pioneer, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

North Judson-San Pierre will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
