Gobles extended their winning streak to 11 on Friday, bumping their season record up to 17-2 in the process. Everything went their way against the Bangor Vikings as they made off with a 12-2 victory. Kylee Killeen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, five runs, and one stolen base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Riley Johnson was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Daisy Jackson was another key player, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Gobles kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bangor only managed three hits.
As for Bangor, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 19-4 record. They were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the six matches prior), but Gobles' pitcher proved too tough.
On Bangor's side, Emily Wisniewski was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.
