The Pymatuning Valley Lakers will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the St. John Fighting Herald at 5:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Pymatuning Valley's favor as the team sits on 13 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while St. John has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Pymatuning Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 73-65 victory over Harding. That looming 73-65 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Pymatuning Valley yet this season.
It was another big night for Blake Krznaric, who shot 6-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 32 points and 11 rebounds. Krznaric also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Bryan, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, St. John pushed their score all the way to 65 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 78-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Conneaut. While losing is never fun, St. John can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Conneaut is ranked 114th).
Pymatuning Valley's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for St. John, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Everything came up roses for Pymatuning Valley against St. John when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 69-23 victory. Will Pymatuning Valley repeat their success, or does St. John have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
