Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, James Wood should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They are leaving VA behind and heading out of state to face off against Hedgesville at 7:00 PM. James Wood will be looking to avenge the 23-28 loss they took the last time these two teams played.
James Wood were able to grind out a solid win over Warren County last week, winning 27-14. The success made it back-to-back wins for James Wood.
Hedgesville won against Mountain Ridge two weeks ago with 42 points, and Hedgesville decided to stick to that point total again. Hedgesville took the game and then some with a 42-6 victory over Jefferson. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
Their wins bumped Hedgesville to 3-1 and James Wood to 2-2. In their win, Hedgesville relied heavily on sophomore Owie Ash, who accumulated 321 passing yards and picked up 92 yards on the ground. James Wood will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
