The Mount St. Dominic Academy Lions lost against the West Orange Mountaineers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Mount St. Dominic Academy's rough 54-32 loss to West Orange might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mount St. Dominic Academy in their matchups with West Orange: they've now lost eight in a row.
Leading West Orange to victory were Anaya Karriem and Kyley Gary-Grayson. Karriem dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Gary-Grayson scored 14 points along with three steals. Karriem hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Francis-Bunkley, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Mount St. Dominic Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-11. As for West Orange, their win bumped their record up to 17-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount St. Dominic Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against West Essex at 5:30 p.m. on February 13th. As for West Orange, they will head out on the road to challenge Caldwell at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
