The Stanton Buffaloes have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They took down Kermit 53-37 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Stanton also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Kermit lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ebbin Mallory, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Iris Lujan, who scored six points along with three steals.
Stanton's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9. As for Kermit, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Stanton will head out on the road to face off against Whiteface at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Whiteface will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Kermit and Fort Stockton will round out the year against one another at 8:00 a.m. on December 28th at.
