After a string of four wins, the Riverside Chargers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Nebraska Christian by a score of 52-50. Riverside was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dane Schalk, who scored 15 points. Drew Carraher was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Micah Perdew was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points for Nebraska Christian. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Perdew has scored at least a third of Nebraska Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Oliver Herman, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Riverside's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7. As for Nebraska Christian, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-14.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Burwell the next time they take the court. Nebraska Christian will host Burwell at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Riverside will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
