Softball Recap: West Blocton Wins Going Away Against Demopolis

West Blocton had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Demopolis on Saturday. West Blocton put the hurt on Demopolis with a sharp 8-2 victory. West Blocton might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Mafynli Kidd, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Koli Hobson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

West Blocton's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Demopolis, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-15.

West Blocton has already played their next game, a 16-1 victory against Jackson on the 5th. As for Demopolis, they will head out to face off against American Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
