Lancaster Catholic and Cocalico are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Lancaster Catholic Crusaders will head out on the road to take on the Cocalico Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Lancaster Catholic is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
Lancaster Catholic suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 76-36 loss at the hands of Berks Catholic. While losing is never fun, Lancaster Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while Berks Catholic is ranked sixth).
Meanwhile, Cocalico was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 52-46 to Lampeter-Strasburg. It was the first time this season that Cocalico let down their fans at home.
Lancaster Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Cocalico, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Lancaster Catholic strolled past Cocalico when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 68-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lancaster Catholic since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
