Basketball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Enterprise's Winning Streak

Enterprise easily dispatched Eufaula last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Enterprise Wildcats fell just short of the Dutchtown Bulldogs by a score of 55-53 on Friday. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ty Bryant, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 17 points. Bryant is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Williams, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 13 points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks.

Even though they lost, Enterprise smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive matchups.

Enterprise's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Dutchtown, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Enterprise didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-45 loss against Jonesboro on the 21st. As for Dutchtown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-34 victory against Cullman on the 21st.
