Dayspring Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Dayspring Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is John-Michael Martin. Despite the final result, he dropped a triple-double on 18 points, ten rebounds, and 11 assists. Martin is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least four every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Erik Furdui, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Hendersonville Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Andrew Roy, who scored 21 points. Roy continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cade White, who scored 12 points.
Dayspring Academy dropped their record down to 6-16 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Hendersonville Christian Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dayspring Academy will take on the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hendersonville Christian Academy, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Tennessee (Metro Christian Academy is ranked 429th, while the Crusaders are ranked 413th).
