Omaha Westside has gone 9-1 against Creighton Prep recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Warriors will look to defend their home field against the Junior Jays at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Omaha Westside is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Elkhorn South, who was ranked 11th at the time (Omaha Westside was ranked third). The Warriors breezed past the Storm to the tune of 58-17 on Friday. Considering the Warriors have won five games by more than 30 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Tay Tay Jenkins and Jaydon Sutko. Jenkins had a great game and rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Sutko did his best for the losing side, rushing for 108 yards.
Omaha Westside didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Eli Johnson and Bryson Williams. Another thorn in Elkhorn South's side was Burke Brown, who made eight total tackles (5.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Creighton Prep put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 37-24 win over Fremont. The Junior Jays pushed the score to 37-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.
Omaha Westside better keep an eye on Angelo Wallker. He was instrumental in Creighton Prep's win, rushing for 169 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Wallker is also crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Tyler Miles was in the mix as well, providing Creighton Prep with one score.
Creighton Prep was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 275 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Creighton Prep's defense made their presence known, laying out Will Schleicher four times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: David Heine, Jake Brock, and Elisee Ahanti, who each picked up one sack apiece. Creighton Prep received some extra help from Miles, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Creighton Prep's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Omaha Westside, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Jenkins and Wallker. Jenkins just won't slow down this season and has run in 18 touchdowns while averaging 177.4 rushing yards per game. Wallker has been a dominant force too and has run in 16 touchdowns while averaging 123.3 rushing yards per game.
Everything came up roses for Omaha Westside against Creighton Prep in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 47-7 victory. In that contest, the Warriors amassed a halftime lead of 41-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
