The Altoona-Midway Jets suffered their biggest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Friday. Their tough 70-45 loss to Pleasanton might stick with them for a while. It was the first time this season that Altoona-Midway let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Altoona-Midway still got an impressive performance from Jacob Meigs, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Meigs is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. William Stackhouse was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Pleasanton found their leader in underclassman Mario Davis, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tony Gillespie, who scored 19 points along with two steals.
Altoona-Midway's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6. As for Pleasanton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.
Altoona-Midway will head out on the road to face off against St. Paul at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pleasanton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Crest is ranked 268th, while Pleasanton is ranked 248th).
