The Queen's Grant Stallions will head out on the road to take on the Grace Academy Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Queen's Grant's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Sugar Creek on the road and fell 84-40. Queen's Grant has not had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kenston Richardson, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylan Mack, who scored five points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Grace Academy pushed their score all the way to 59 back in December of 2023, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their tough 85-59 loss to Queen's Grant might stick with them for a while. Grace Academy was down 64-38 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Queen's Grant has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season. As for Grace Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Queen's Grant took their win against the Lions in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 85-59. The rematch might be a little tougher for Queen's Grant since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
