After flying high against the Orangewood Christian Rams on Tuesday, the Trinity Christian Academy Eagles came back down to earth. Trinity Christian Academy was beaten by Pine Ridge 58-31 on Thursday. Trinity Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pine Ridge apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the defeat, Trinity Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Haylee Morelli scored 18 points. Morelli scored a full 58.1% of Trinity Christian Academy's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Pine Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaylee Roman, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Murray, who scored 19 points along with 3 steals.
Trinity Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Pine Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Trinity Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Legacy Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pine Ridge, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Space Coast at 6:00 p.m. on December 7th.
